Bio

A British DOP/Lighting Cameraman resident in Japan with twenty years experience of filming wildlife and adventure/expedition documentary as well as all genres of the moving image for
film and television. Based in Japan but can also base in UK  and Thailand for journey starts.
 
Has own equipment including Red/Sony Cinema Cameras, Cine Zooms and Prime Lenses including Canon CN20, Movi and DJI Gimbals, Cranes, Lighting, Drones and Vehicle in Japan
 
Career started as a teenager when was gifted a super 8mm movie camera and made some extremely low budget films such as ‘Attack of the 50ft Sausage Dog’ and ‘The Tetbury Hedgetrimmer Masacre’. After a spell at art college in England and three years travelling Australasia and the Far East started work at Partridge Films in Bristol England where during five years was able to work as the staff cameraman/editor and assistant producer and helped to make a number of wildlife films. Went freelance in 2001 and since then has filmed around the world with credits on a diverse range of award winning films.
 
When not working I spend my time at home in Japan. I have a love of the outdoors and the ocean and like to enjoy the odd wave when time permits and am a cycling addict. I am also interested in the arts and relax by painting and sketching when I have the time. I am a keen food enthusiast and enjoy cooking at home and on location whenever possible!
